I was out running errands on my bike today and ended up walking the bike up a steep hill. That doesn’t happen very often and, at least in this case, it wasn’t a fitness thing. It was a I’m building up heat and can’t get rid of it thing. A “real feel” temperature of 97Continue reading “That Doesn’t Happen Very Often”

Saddle- Not Sore
Just a quick update. A couple posts back I mentioned I swapped saddle on my bikes taking a Brooks C-15 off my, rather upright, Surly Bridge Club, replacing that saddle with a wider C-17, and putting the C-15 on my road bike. Poking Around East Of Town
It was freakishly warm today, temps in the mid 50’s, so I headed out of town on my bike to do a little exploring. Otter Creek
Otter Creek is about a 2 mile trail system maintained by our local mountain biking club in Centennial Park in Altoona, a small town attached to the east side of Eau Claire. It had been a while since I’d been down that way, so I took a fun little spin though the trails today.
Mount Tom
At 1,110 feet Mount Tom is the highest point in Eau Claire, WI. And I gotta tell ya, as I’m from the Pacific Northwest I sometimes get a bit of the giggles referring to Tom as a “mount”. It’s barely a hill in my book. But, it is a nice bit of greenery and theContinue reading “Mount Tom”
