I was doing a little outandabouting after dark tonight and decided to take a picture to show folks, that might not be acquainted with the latest and greatest in bike lights, just how bright the new bike lights are. This is a 1,000 Lumen Light And Motion Urban and there are lights that get wayContinue reading “Bike Lights Are Bright”

Eau Claire River/ Uniroyal Tire
I managed to wander off without my camera this morning, so all a have for you today is a quick cellphone snap of the Eau Claire River. It was an absolutely stunning day today and with temps in the 40’s the bike riding was great. The building in the distance with the smoke stack wasContinue reading “Eau Claire River/ Uniroyal Tire”
Otter Creek
Otter Creek is about a 2 mile trail system maintained by our local mountain biking club in Centennial Park in Altoona, a small town attached to the east side of Eau Claire. It had been a while since I’d been down that way, so I took a fun little spin though the trails today.
‘Bout That Time Of The Year
I don’t know why it is, but whenever I ride my bike in cold temps my nose runs. Constantly. When winter time rolls around I pull out a big stack of bandanas and keep them in a handy spot by my bike so I won’t forget one when I roll out the door.
Everyday Adventure Triptych
Please forgive that the photos aren’t stitched together in a proper triptych, my photo editing software epic failed me in this endeavor. Some people save their money and time off to go on grand adventures in faraway lands, or spend weeks at a time hiking or paddling though wildernesses. Those options sound great to meContinue reading “Everyday Adventure Triptych”

I’m not sure whatContinue reading “Cash (and bikes you can carry stuff with) Is King”
L.L. Phillips County Park
Today’s post is just a few quick pics I took on a 20 mile bike ride this morning. I’ve gone by L.L. Phillips Park dozens of times, but never stopped in and poked around. So, this morning I made a concerted effort to get out of bed early enough to get some extra riding inContinue reading “L.L. Phillips County Park”
‘Bout That Time
Fall has definitely come to Wisconsin and with our shorter days, softer light, and lingering twilights it’s time to think about putting some lights on our bikes. Generally, my advise on lights is to go with USB rechargeable ones. But, with every rule there is an exception and in this case the exception is theContinue reading “‘Bout That Time”
The Chippewa River Snake
For about 100 years or so the Chippewa River around Eau Claire was a very industrial place. When river levels get very low I like to tool along on my bike looking for the old pilings and bits of concrete and iron that give you hints at the areas past.
