Never mind the odd crop; this photo’s a bit of rescue. Even as a rescue, I think it worked out good enough to post. The dimpling on the surface of the river is some sort of huge insect hatch coming off. It always surprises me that things hatch this late in the year.

A small break in what was otherwise a cloud filled day had midday fall sunlight streaming through this leaf, while most of the rest of the bike path was was in shade. So, of course, I had to stop and grab a couple photos to share.
