That Doesn’t Happen Very Often

I was out running errands on my bike today and ended up walking the bike up a steep hill. That doesn’t happen very often and, at least in this case, it wasn’t a fitness thing. It was a I’m building up heat and can’t get rid of it thing. A “real feel” temperature of 97Continue reading “That Doesn’t Happen Very Often”

Finally Got Some Ice On The River

Up until the Polar Vortex hit us we’d had a freakishly warm winter and no river ice, which is a two-fold bummer for me as the coming of river ice generally means wintering Bald Eagles are easier to see as they gather at places where there are openings in the river ice and because IContinue reading “Finally Got Some Ice On The River”

Aint’ No Cure For The Overcast Blahs…

Looks like I forgot to put something up for Musical Monday. Sunday Tramp

Normally on a warm for Wisconsin winter’s Sunday, with a bright blue sky above, I’d be out on my bicycle. Bike Lights Are Bright

I was doing a little outandabouting after dark tonight and decided to take a picture to show folks, that might not be acquainted with the latest and greatest in bike lights, just how bright the new bike lights are. This is a 1,000 Lumen Light And Motion Urban and there are lights that get wayContinue reading “Bike Lights Are Bright”

Otter Creek

Otter Creek is about a 2 mile trail system maintained by our local mountain biking club in Centennial Park in Altoona, a small town attached to the east side of Eau Claire. It had been a while since I’d been down that way, so I took a fun little spin though the trails today.

You Can Carry That On A Bike

First of all I’d like to point out that I do actually eat fruit and veg. I live alone and buy fruit and veg once or twice a week from a store close to my apartment. This was a trip to a big store on the edge of town to stock up on mostly non-perishables.Continue reading “You Can Carry That On A Bike”
