Finally Got Some Ice On The River

Up until the Polar Vortex hit us we’d had a freakishly warm winter and no river ice, which is a two-fold bummer for me as the coming of river ice generally means wintering Bald Eagles are easier to see as they gather at places where there are openings in the river ice and because IContinue reading “Finally Got Some Ice On The River”

Aint’ No Cure For The Overcast Blahs…

Looks like I forgot to put something up for Musical Monday. Temps have finally dropped to almost proper Winter In Wisconsin levels and there’s some snow in the forecast, but we seem to be continuing with the overcast days. On the bright side of things, the overcast makes it easy to make shots like thisContinue reading “Aint’ No Cure For The Overcast Blahs…”

Sunday Tramp

Normally on a warm for Wisconsin winter’s Sunday, with a bright blue sky above, I’d be out on my bicycle. But, this winter I’m pretty into taking tramps around town and while it was a warm and sunny Sunday it was also fairly humid and I just can not stay warm in cold temps withContinue reading “Sunday Tramp”

Brown Season Continues…

This is a 1,000 Lumen Light And Motion Urban and there are lights that get wayContinue reading “Bike Lights Are Bright”

Otter Creek

Otter Creek is about a 2 mile trail system maintained by our local mountain biking club in Centennial Park in Altoona, a small town attached to the east side of Eau Claire. It had been a while since I’d been down that way, so I took a fun little spin though the trails today.

First of all I’d like to point out that I do actually eat fruit and veg. I live alone and buy fruit and veg once or twice a week from a store close to my apartment. This was a trip to a big store on the edge of town to stock up on mostly non-perishables.Continue reading “You Can Carry That On A Bike”

Derp…

Eau Claire has a number of pedestrian/bike underpasses to get people safely through busy intersections and they work great. I’ve been biking through the intersection of Vine and Claremont (pictured above) a couple times a month for the last three years, usually grumbling to myself about how it would be great if there was anContinue reading “Derp…”
